Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully and make sure you understand your agreement with us.

When you pay your deposit or balance, you are accepting these T&Cs.

They provide you with important information about your holiday and our policy if anyone should cancel at short notice or not show up.

They apply to individuals, families & groups.

1 Booking

1.1 Prices:

A minimum of 2 adults or 3 children per room. Single supplement +40%.

Children are between 5 and 16 inclusive, -25% discount unless 2 per room, then -15%.

Under 5 are FREE but must share a room with 2 paying guests.

Any discounts and reduced rates are limited and subject to availability.

1.2 Availability:

Please contact us to check availability first as bookings can change very quickly. Don’t pay deposits until you have checked availability and received a Booking Number.

1.3 Booking:

We will email you a booking statement. Please check the booking statement very carefully and tell us immediately of any errors.

1.4 Payment:

A non-returnable deposit of £150 or €175 per person per week (excluding under 5’s) is payable at the time of booking.

The final balance MUST be received 2 months before your holiday is due to start or we reserve the right to treat it as a cancellation.

Payment acknowledges everyone on the booking has read, understood and accepted these T&Cs and our Covid policy.

Late payment cancels your booking.

1.5 Changes:

Please inform us immediately of any changes to your booking and we will try our hardest to accommodate your request. In the unlikely event that we have to make changes to your booking we will notify you as soon as possible.

1.6 No Show, Cancellation, Delay or early departure:

Tell us as soon as possible, preferably by email. We will do our utmost to help. Deposits are non-refundable.

We will refund 50% of your balance if you give us between 4 and 6 weeks notice. Under 4 weeks notice there is no refund.

If you notify us less than 1 month before your holiday is due to start our fee is 100% of your total holiday cost. It is your responsibility to have Travel Insurance to cover this.

Skialot Ltd cannot be held liable or responsible for any Changes, ‘No Shows’, Cancellations or Delays caused by actions out of our control.

It is the responsibility of everyone on the booking to have Holiday or Travel Insurance to cover for ‘no show’, cancellation, delay or early departure, in addition to medical, mountain rescue, loss/damage of possessions and hired equipment, third party, accident, injury and illness as a minimum.

Please take time to check your policy before you make a booking.  

2 Important Information

2.1 Insurance:

It is the responsibility of everyone to have their own insurance to cover, as a minimum, everything listed in section 1.6 above.

We regret that if you have no insurance we will be unable to help you and you may not be covered for a holiday cancellation.

You are advised that some holiday insurance requires you to pay for treatment yourself and then claim it back off your insurance company on your return home.

2.2 Passport, Visa and Vaccinations:

It is your responsibility to be in possession of a valid passport, visa or vaccination.

2.3 Liability:

Skialot Ltd and its employees cannot accept any responsibility for injuries caused by personal negligence. Clients take part at their own (or guardians) risk at all times.

2.4 Weather:

Skialot Ltd is not responsible for adverse weather conditions affecting travel arrangements or the ability to ski or snowboard.

2.5 Damage and Losses:

If any fittings, contents or equipment in Chalet Chataigne or any vehicle used by us as part of our service, are damaged or lost, by any guest, visitor, or employee the people responsible or their guardians will be liable for the cost of repair or replacement.

2.6 Conduct:

All persons in Chalet Chataigne or vehicles used by Skialot, must behave in an acceptable manner which does not threaten or disturb the enjoyment of others.

Skialot reserves the right to cease all contractual obligations in such circumstances.

2.7 Smoking:

It is illegal to Smoke (including Vaping) anywhere in Chalet Chataigne including outside on the balconies or leaning out of a window.

Anyone wishing to smoke or vape, can only do so outside in the designated areas away from the chalet.

2.8 Comments and Suggestions:

2.9 Complaints:

Please let us know if you have any complaints as soon as possible and we will do everything possible to put them right immediately.

We would prefer to be able to respond to any complaint straight away, but if you prefer to tell us anonymously, please use the Feedback menu on our website see 2.8 above.

2.10 Correct Information:

All Information provided is subject to change but we will make every effort to inform you of any alterations or corrections as soon as possible.

2.11 English Law:

The contract shall in all respects be governed by English law and shall be deemed to have been made in England and subject to non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

3 Holiday Details

3.1 Our aim:

We strive to be as flexible and helpful as possible with each individual guest or group. 

If you have any specific requests please ask us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

3.2 Arrival and Departure:

Saturday is our usual changeover day.

Since Covid, we try to have your room ready by 16:30 on arrival and we ask you to vacate it by 9:30 on the day of departure.

Your holiday includes:

3.3 Accommodation: Room including linen & individual towels (one set per stay or week).

3.4 Meals:

Breakfast (07:45 to 08:45), Tea (16:00 to 17:30).

Your winter holiday includes: 3 course evening meal including wine on 5 or 6 nights. Children 18:00 to 18:30 and Adults 19:30 to 21:00 approx.

The chalet kitchen is closed one night per week (normally Wednesday or Thursday) and you will need to eat out at a local restaurant (this is not included in your holiday price).

3.5 Minibus:

We will always try to provide at least one morning drop off and one afternoon pickup each day.

3.8 Transfers:

Travel to and from Chatel (flights, train, ferry or channel tunnel). Minibus pickups from Aigle train station, Geneva (airport or train station) or Thonon train station are NOT included in the cost of your holiday and you should make your own arrangements for this. Click here for Getting Here page

The chalet has limited free outside parking but there is an underground car park in the center of Chatel available for a weekly charge.

3.9 Ski Passes:

These can be generated at the Chalet and paid for by Cash or Card. Click here for Ski Passes page

3.10 Equipment Hire:

Please organise prior to your arrival. Payment by Cash or Card at the end of your stay, direct with the hire company. Click here for Equipment page

3.11 Lessons:

These can be booked prior to arrival but they must be paid for in advance. It is recommended that you book lessons as early as possible, particularly during the busy school holiday periods. Click here for Lessons page
