HOLIDAY or TRAVEL INSURANCE

It is the responsibility of all guests to make sure everyone (including children) have Holiday or Travel Insurance.

This should include as a minimum: ‘no show’, cancellation, delay or early departure, in addition to medical, mountain rescue, loss/damage of possessions and hired equipment, third party, accident, injury and illness.

MPI Brokers have provided cover for us in the past.

If you provide us with details of your insurance cover with your booking, we can be of maximum help in the event of an accident, claim or cancellation.

We regret that if you have no insurance we will be unable to help you and you may not be covered for a holiday cancellation or accident.

You are advised that some holiday ski insurance requires you to pay for treatment yourself and then claim it back off your insurance company on your return home.

Most insurance companies expect you to have a valid EHIC or GHIC card. These are issued free in the UK - search for GHIC on Google.

Credit card deposit protection - March 2020

If you use your credit card to pay a deposit towards the cost of a holiday (you can still pay the balance using a BACS transfer) your credit card provider could still cover the whole amount of the purchase.

The item you’re buying will still need to cost more than £100 and less than £30,000, but you don’t need to put the whole amount on the credit card to get access to protection.

Why do credit cards offer this protection?

In 1974, the government reformed the law concerning consumer credit. Under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, credit cards must provide protection for purchases above £100 and below £30,000.

Debit cards don’t offer this protection, which is one reason why it can be a good idea to pay your deposit with your credit card instead. You can do this directly on our website here.

Always check with your credit card company before paying.
